I am always pleased to observe that the guys dish out equal treatment for the women (there are two) who ref the league. One of them is particularly good and has several years of experience. The guys respect her calls and her authority. And the true sign of equality: they scream and whine at her when her calls go against us, like they would any other guy in stripes! Even the more novice woman ref gets the same level of respect comparable to that which any novice ref receives.<BR/><BR/>I know that we have a long way to go before women refs & umps will enjoy the same presumption of competence as men.
