TRAVELOGUE

Rita Mae Brown

I took the woman's face
To be the roadmap of her self,
And rode past temples of beauty
through schools of thought
To a soft meadow of kindness
And I would have laid my body there
But from my own green kindness
Instead, I laid my soul.
