...needs a new home . With the closure of the Sports Museum of America , all the items donated by athletes are without a permanent place of display. But the down and out museum will not give them back to the donors, which has a few people pissed off. Brandi Chastain, former owner of previously mentioned sports bra, doesn't seem to be too hurt over the loss of the famous bra. If she wanted it back, she would have to pay $250. The Soccer Hall of Fame is interested in the item. [I bet if the museum put it on Ebay they could get a lot more for it!]

The not-that-old (9 months) Sports Museum of America, home of the Billie Jean King International Women's Sports Center, has closed . The for-profit museum apparently wasn't making much profit and the owners are seeking a buyer--it could be a steal for $10 million, if you're interested. Apparently you would need to come up with a new marketing plan though; the lack of effective marketing is the reason given for the museum's closure.

...on the new Sports Museum of America in The Boston Globe . There has been a lot of media on the new museum in NYC but this one describes some of the exhibits and installations. I was lukewarm about the place--even with the new Billie Jean King International Women's Sports Center--but now I think I will make a point to check it out next time I'm in the city. After all, how many times can one go to the Museum of Sex . [OK a lot but variety is nice.] Plus I am interested in seeing if the museum itself covers women's sports or if they've stuck it all in the BJK wing as if it's some kind of auxiliary to "real" sports.
